This Global YO project was centered on enhancing the app’s functionality by introducing a dedicated livestreaming feature that delivers a smooth, engaging, and intuitive user experience. The livestream feature is intended to continue the company's goal of impacting traveling by keeping people entertained at different points of their travel experiences. The objective was to design an interface that allowed users to easily start and end livestreams while keeping the process visually appealing and consistent with the app’s brand identity.
The task required translating livestreaming concepts into a clear and user-friendly flow within the Global YO mobile app. Inspired by industry leaders like Instagram Live and YouTube Live, the process began with researching existing livestream platforms to identify user expectations and common pain points. Our design approach involved creating detailed user flows to map each step of the livestream process from launching a stream to concluding it ensuring the journey was logical and friction-free
Research findings informed the ideation phase, where sketches and concepts were developed to explore possible layouts and interaction models. High-fidelity mockups were then developed for the “start livestream” through to the “end livestream” screens, with a focus on visual hierarchy, intuitive controls, and responsive layouts. The design was carefully integrated into the app’s broader ecosystem, maintaining consistency in visual style and navigation.
